Oatmeal Problems

General Quest

The town is short on supplies, and Hana would like you to speak with Old Mugwort about sending her some oatmeal.

This quest will serve to introduce you to the Evendim area.

STEPS:

1) Talk to Old Mugwort. Hana tells you:

"If your travels bring you back westward, could you speak to Old Mugwort in the Forsaken Inn about arranging a delivery of oatmeal to be sent to Ost Guruth?"

Old Mugwort is in the Forsaken Inn, in the far back corner (34s, 40.7w). Mugwort tells you that he has no oatmeal due to issues in Oatbarton. If you go there, talk with Mugwort's cousin and help resolve the problems, then you may get some oatmeal.

2) Talk to Nod Gardener. Mugwort says to you:

"You can get to Oatbarton by heading north from Brockenborings in the Shire, across the Greenfields."

From The Forsaken Inn, take the road to Bree, head north to get to the road that runs to the west, and take that to the Shire. Of course, horses are your friend, and you should exercise the rent-a-nag (thanks to Elisenya for that term that made me chuckle) option. Once in the Shire, head west until you get to the road that leads north past Brockenborings. Take the northern road and then cut across the Greenfields. It won't be long before you have left the Shire and are in Evendim (24.4s, 67.6w). Oatbarton will be the first town you enter, and if you just continue following the road, you'll practically run into Nod Gardener, near the mailbox (23.1s, 67.3w).

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward and XP. Nod also has a quest series you could take, which is not linked to this one. If you want to check it out, clickify HERE.
