Dead Water

General Quest

Eriac does indeed have need of your help. It seems that from the swamps in eastern Agamaur some creatures have risen, called Gloom-water. Eriac is not sure how to fight them, but he "would have you try." As they come up from the water, they bring with them ancient tokens. You will be collecting these "as a sign of your efforts." Finally, Eriac urges you to bring friends.

NOTE: Agamaur is a tough place, even if the mobs are several levels lower than you. It is best if you head there with a full group, or go with a smaller, well-balanced group, and take your time. My group was: myself, level 32 Hunter; Brasse, level 31 Guardian; Risi, level 30 Minstrel; Grif, level 29 Captain, and Ezri, level 33 Guardian. STEPS:

1) Collect 15 Ancient Tokens. The Wretched and Dreadful Gloom-Water mobs can be found in the blood pools throughout Agamaur, and will attack after you dip a toe in to check the temperature. The best way to find these pools (and the Gloom-Waters!) is to utilize Brasse's incomparable Agamaur map. They do not drop a token each time, and they are level 28-30 Elites. The watery shades you find in Garth Agarwen will not drop these tokens--you must kill them in Agamaur. Here is but one specific location: (29.7s, 25.7w).

2) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, The Tusker's Flanks, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Angmar's Dead.
