Hobgoblin's Recipe

General Quest

It's not enough that you've lessened the Goblin's supply of venom. Now Bob has learned that some hobgoblins are making a tar out of the venom in their cooking pots, and Bob wants you to nip that in the bud.

STEPS:

1) Recover the hobgoblins' recipe. Burn 3 bubbling pots. Bob tells you:

"You should head back to Bleakleaf Crest and burn the pots they are cooking the spiders in! And you'll need to take the recipe for the tar away from them as well, or burning the pots won't do any good. Defeat one of them hobgoblins out there and search him for the recipe!"

Go back to the Goblin camp (Blackleaf Crest). Within the camp you'll find plenty of hobgoblins, the Gramsfoot Spear-Flingers, Gramsfoot Slashers, and Gramsfoot Hobgoblins (level 28-29). One of them will drop the recipe on its body. Deeper within the camp you'll also find Cowardly Boggarts, level 28 swarm critters. Unless you want to be bombarded by a handful of foul monsters with poor dental hygiene, stay away from them! There are many torches and pots to choose from, though once you pick up a torch (double-click), you cannot attack anything, and must make your way to a pot to burn it (double-click). So, ensure that your torch and pot areas are both free of mobs before you go about your business. Torches: (22.4s, 64.3w; 22.4s, 64.1w; 22.3s, 64.1w) and pots: (22.4s, 64.1w; 22.5s, 64w; 22.3s, 64.3w). Be patient and pull/attack wisely, and you will have little trouble soloing this quest.

2) Bring the hobgoblins' recipe to Bob Proudfoot.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and either Proudfoot Bow, Saelechor, or Proudfoot Buckler.
