Shattered Past, The

General Quest

If you do not know where to find Aric, see the Stone-Speaker quest. Aric is troubled by the nearby shades that are cursed, and have been driven out by some wights. He wants you to kill these wights in Garth Agarwen and bring their swords to him, where upon he will "display them and bolster the flagging resolve of these cursed men."

NOTE: Garth Agarwen is chock-full of Elite mobs (singles and groups) with a sprinkling of Elite Masters to keep you on your toes. Enter with a strong group, and good luck! For your comparison, here was our group make-up: Myself, a level 33 Hunter; Brasse, a level 31 Guardian; Risi, a level 30 Minstrel; Grif, a level 29 Captain; Ezri, a level 33 Guardian; and Drubbin, a level 37 Guardian. STEPS:

1) Collect 15 wight-swords. These swords won't drop from the Gloom-Waters in Agamaur. Instead, you've got to make the trek north to Garth Agarwen, which you'll access via Agamaur. Once inside, the Wretched and Dreadful Gloom-Water mobs can be found in the blood pools throughout the zone, and will attack after you dip a toe in to check the temperature. The best way to find these pools (and the Gloom-Waters!) is to utilize Brasse's incomparable Garth Agarwen map. They do not drop a sword each time, and they are Elite mobs in the lower 30s for their level. Here is just one set of coordinates for them: (29.1s, 24.7w)

2) Bring the darkwater-swords to Aric the Stone-speaker.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and Bregechor.
