Aurochs Mantles

General Quest

Gondranc has learned that the Earth-kin "use the mantles of thick fur that grow upon the shoulders of the aurochs to pad the inside of their armour." Gondranc wants you to bring him some of these mantles.

NOTE: For your comparison, here was my group composition: Myself, a 34 Hunter; Kari, a 30 Burglar; Shaeroc, a 34 Burglar; Melodea, a 31 Minstrel; Janella, a 29 Minstrel; and Bregnir, a 32 Champion. This quest was a cake-walk for us--you could do it with half as many people, though it would take you longer! Thank you to all of those that helped me with this quest.

NOTE: For questal efficiency, you may wish to work on the quests Meat for the Hungry and Food and Shelter concurrently with this one.

STEPS:

1) Collect 4 aurochs-mantles. Gondranc says to you:

"I need you to make your way into the fields of Rhunenlad or eastern Nan Amlug in search of these mantles. You will have the best results hunting the aurochs bulls. Do not attempt this hunt alone, for the aurochs are mighty beasts."

While you may have the best luck hunting auroch bulls, I had no difficulty in quickly getting the mantles (though they do not drop every time) I needed from Roving Hoar-Aurochs, level 32ish Elite cows found in Nan Amlug East. The Aurochs are all over this area, they truly are yours for the picking.

2) Bring the aurochs mantles back to Gondranc.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward and XP.
