Chapter 04: Freeing Dori

Epic - Book III: Council of the North

Hannar will not join the council unless you find and free Dori.

NOTE: For your comparison, here was my fellowship composition: Myself, a 34 Hunter; Risi, 32 Minstrel; Brasse, 32 Guardian; Bregnir, 32 Champion; Nima, 33 Guardian, and Varroc, 30 Hunter. Many thanks for the help!

STEPS:

1) Find Dori. Hannar tells you:

"Dori is likely being held in the Dourhands' camp to the west of Othrikar. Free Dori and escort him to safety! Once he is free, we will make our decision regarding this council of yours."

The camp west of Othrikar is a large, walled fortress called Ost Galumar. You cannot just travel straight west to get there, due to the mountains in the way, so either jump over the wall on the west side of town and carefully slide down a mountain, or take the road out of town and then head west and north to go around the back of the town. Once in the fields, work your way west until you see the big ole dorfy thing looming ahead.

Now to get inside the fort! To avoid aggro, go over a hill and work your way to a causeway that leads into the camp (6.9s, 46.6w). Inside the camp you'll be fighting level 28-30 birds and Dourhands. Dori is locked inside a wagon, and noted on the map (7.7s, 47w). He tells you the Dourhands took his gems. After you select "Continue Quest," your quest automatically updates, and you must protect and follow Dori.

2) Escort Dori to safety. Brasse's map has Dori's route marked. Before you've gone very far, you'll be attacked by a few Elite Dourhands (level 29ish) and a couple of regular mobs as well. After each battle Dori will relentlessly pound ahead; be sure to keep him healed and ready for fighting. Numerous Elite mobs will spawn just for this quest, and Dori will also do his best to take the very most aggroriffic route to get out of the camp. Oh yeah, and he has a HUGE aggro range! Before he leaves, however, he will need to get the missing gems. Dori says:

"Here! That chest! They put the gems there! Just a moment! Alright, I've got the gems. Let's be off!"

Once you have reached a certain point, he will be safe and your quest will update (7.6s, 46.6w). He will tell you:

"At last, free of the Dourhands! I can make it to Othrikar from here! You have my thanks! I shall see you again, I am sure!"

As an aside, Dori uses more exclamation marks than even I do, sheesh.

3) Talk to Hannar.

4) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, either Dori's Defenders or Dori's Saviour, and you will now be able to take another quest, The Dwarves Shall Come.
