Chapter 05: Tending the Glade

Epic - Book III: Council of the North

Gildor is inside a room at the back (westernmost part) of the glade. Double-click the doors to enter (13.7s, 44.9w).

Gildor will not consider joining the council while the Orc threat against Lin Giliath is still so dangerous. He feels that if you kill the Orc leader, that will perhaps enable him to join the council.

FELLOW: Myself, a 34 Hunter; Risi, 32 Minstrel; Brasse, 33 Guardian; Bregnir, 32 Champion, and Sparrwren, 29 Minstrel. This group was able to take down the boss on the first try, although our Guardian did die (sorry Brasse!). Thank you all for helping me with this quest!

STEPS:

1) Defeat Drukordh. Gildor tells you:

"The scouts say that these Orcs are being led by a great Uruk of Angmar named Drukordh, who camps in the deepest parts of Nan Wathren. Perhaps if the Uruk were slain, Lin Giliath would be protected enough for me to come to your council. It is a heavy burden, but I would task you with this, if you remain of stout heart. The Uruk is a mighty foe, and so you should not attempt to confront him on your own."

You'll be heading into the Nan Wathren area to find this baddie. To get there without getting horribly lost fighting through a horde of Elite mobs, face south at these coordinates--you'll be looking up a hill (16.8s, 47w). Shortly thereafter you will go through a stockaded passageway. Keep following the path, you know you're close to Drukordh when your fellowship is plagued with dread, and you've come to an area call Higropor. Inside the camp are level 26-28 Elites (Tarkrip Emmissary and Tarkrip Fighter), along with some normal mobs (birds and Orcs) in the mid-20s. Drukordh himself is a level 29 Elite with 9,052 morale and 1,425 power (18.9s, 46.4w).

2) Talk to Gildor Inglorion.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, either Thenidmaib or Othigil, and you will now be able to take another quest, Might of the Elves.
