Into the Woods

General Quest

Gil says that he saw something in the woods near Chetwood, and it is troubling him. He cannot leave the farm, so he wants you to seek out Farmer Maggot in the Shire.

STEPS:

1) Talk to Farmer Maggot. From the quest log: "Farmer Maggot is at his farm in the Shire, across the Brandywine River and to the south." From Gil, travel southwest towards Buckland, cross the Brandywine Bridge to get to the Shire, then follow the road south to get to Farmer Maggot (34.3s, 64.4w). Farmer Maggot suggests you speak with Goldberry in the Old Forest to determine if she has any information.

2) Talk to Goldberry. Farmer Maggot tells you: "You should speak with old Tom Bombadil's wife, Goldberry. You can likely find her at her spring deep within the Old Forest, east of here." The quickest way to reach Goldberry is to enter the Old Forest at Adso's Camp in Bree. From there, use Brasse's wondrous Old Forest map to find Goldberry (31.1s, 59.4w).

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, By Axe and Fire.
