Weakening the Tide

General Quest

Hithlim has learned that the Orcs have sorcerers in their ranks. He wants you to bring some allies and take them out.

NOTE: For your comparison, here was our group make-up: Myself, a level 37 Hunter; Brasse, a 35 Guardian; and Grif a 32 Captain. This area is tough for a healerless trio, and I ended up finishing this quest with some additional help. Unfortunately, though I remembered to thank them by name in other Dol Dinen quests, I lost my notes on who I was with for this specific one. Thank you for all the help with this quest!

NOTE: For questal efficiency, try to work on other Dol Dinen quests at the same time. I did Orcs of Blood Mountain and Siegecraft at the same time as this one.

STEPS:

1) Defeat 20 Ongburz Bone-speakers. Hithlim says to you:

"We know that there have been Orcs, unseen by any Ranger before, keeping watch beyond the siege-engines, deep within the encampment, and they are not great in number. If these are the sorcerers that we have heard of, they must be destroyed."

You'll find some of the level 35 Elite Bone-Speaker in the initial areas of Dol Dinen, though to get your entire count you will need to enter the fort that is guarded by a Troll and some others. This area leads further up into the mountain, and into a section called Hisuk (15.8s, 36.6w).

2) Talk to Hithlim.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, Hithlim's Kite Shield, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Siege-Master.
