Orcs of the Blood Mountain

General Quest

Arohir wants you to disrupt the leadership of the Orcs by killing some of their strongest warriors.

NOTE: For your comparison, here was our group make-up: Myself, a level 37 Hunter; Brasse, a 35 Guardian; and Grif a 32 Captain. With a trio, this quest is slow, difficult, and plagued with a very fast mob respawn. Hence, we died. It was not long before we added three others: Him, a 35 Hunter; Penrandir, a 37 Lore-master; and Tituspullo, 34 Burglar. Things went much better with a full group; I highly recommend you have the same when doing this quest, or if you have a healer you can manage with less. As a matter of fact, this quest takes so very long that I did some of the Man-slayer part of it with a third group: Myself, a 37 Hunter; Teasel, a 35 Minstrel; Elgost, a 37 Hunter; Kiteo, a 35 Guardian; Faery, a level 32 Hunter, and Sparrwren, a 32 Minstrel. But wait, stop the presses--it actually took me four fellowships to fully complete this quest! Here is my very last group: Myself, a level 38 Hunter, Brasse, a 35 Guardian, Fallinoor, a 35 Guardian, and Grif, a 33 Captain. Many thanks to ALL for helping!

NOTE: For questal efficiency, try to work on other Dol Dinen quests at the same time. I did Weakening the Tide and Siegecraft at the same time as this one.

STEPS:

1) Defeat 16 Ongburz Combatants. Defeat 12 Ongburz Man-slayers. Defeat 6 Ongburz Battle-masters. Arohir says to you:

"Take your allies and slay the Orcs which patrol the trenches in Dol Dinen. These warriors are some of the strongest the Ongburz have to offer, and the replacements for the captains you slew will likely come from among their ranks."

You'll find the level 34 Elite Combatants (15.1s, 37.5w) and Battle-masters (15.2s, 37.3w) in the initial areas of Dol Dinen. For the Ongburz Man-slayers, however, follow the road that leads south to the Dol Dinen area. Next, go into a fort that is guarded by a Troll and some others. This area leads further up into the mountain, and into a section called Hisuk. The Man-slayers are level 35 Elite mobs (15.8s, 36.6w).

2) Talk with Arohir.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, either Bridge-Defenders, Arohir's Axe, Arohir's Crossbow, or Arohir's Necklace, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Master of the Black Tide.
