Ending the Elder

General Quest

Bork is pleased that you killed some worms, but he wants to take out the big kahuna worm. Or rather, wants YOU to do it for him.

NOTE: For your comparison purposes, here was my fellowship composition: Myself, a level 38 Hunter; Brasse, a level 36 Guardian; Grif, a level 34 Captain; Fado, a level 45 Champion; Val, a level 32 Minstrel; and Naking, a level 31 Champion. Many thanks to all that helped me with this quest!

STEPS:

1) Defeat Gajarpan. Bork tells you:

"If we are toe drive the worms from these ruins once and for all, Gajarpan must be destroyed. That will be your task, Hobbit. Find Gajarpan and slay him!"

You could get into the part of the ruins where he is by the back window, or the direct route. For the jumping-inclined: Go up the left side of the fort where the worms are, and make a somewhat tricksy jump onto a window facing east when you are at (5.2s, 56.2w). Thanks to Kari for this hint. Note, you will need to fight multiple Elite mobs once you jump down from the window, and it is very wise to have a healer with you.

I was not successful with that trip, but some levels later and with a Minstrel, we went in the standard way. From the Free People's Camp, go north to the worm area, where you'll encounter level 34 Elite Fearsome Rock-worms. The ruins you will enter are in the northwest part of Fornost--there is a doorway you will enter at: (5.5s, 56.1w).

Head inside, turn right (east), and follow the corridor. Gajarpan can spawn in different areas within these ruins; for us he spawned outside the area that you go through (5s, 55.9w). He is a level 35 Elite Master with 12,055 morale and 1,395 power. Our group had no difficulties with him at all.

2) Talk to Bork.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and either Skot-Leggar, Gajarpan's Doom, Rehearh, or Anglang.
