Chapter 02: The Missing Rider

Epic - Book IV Quest

Elladan has searched far and wide but has not found the ninth rider. He did, however, find some hoofprints in the South Trollshaws, far south of the road.

NOTE: While this is a "fellowship" quest, as long as you can handle level 34-35 Elite mobs, you will be fine doing it with less than a full group. Brasse (level 39 Guardian) helped me out (level 40 Hunter) with this quest, and we did alright.

STEPS:

1) Find some sign of the missing Nazgul. Elladan says to you:

"Journey far south of the road in the South Trollshaws, Wren, and seek out the missing Rider. The ruins within those narrow channels have a fell reputation. Minas Agor that place was called of old, and the Nazgul may have sought it out for that reason."

Travel south to get to the east-west running road, and take it west until you see the road dip slightly to the south on your in-game map. From here, travel south. Continue south, through a number of Hoar-mantles. You'll soon come to the Troll area. Among these are the Curr-Olog Scourge, level 34-35 Elite, Curr-Olog Hunters, level 34 Elite, and Corcur Archers, normal level 36 mobs.

You will come upon a stone entryway on the left (east) within this area; pass through it (36.4s, 18.5w). Once you poke your nose in a bit, you will see the horse lying on the ground not far ahead of you, along with some regular Corcur Blood-Sworn mobs. As you approach the horse, you will get the message:

"flies buzz about the corpse of a horse,"

and your quest will update to remove the bridle from the black horse's corpse (36.6s, 18.4w).

2) Bring bridle of the black steed to Elladan. Elladan figures this means the Nazgul survived and will be striking again.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and you will now be able to take the next quest, Chapter 03: The Wisdom of Lord Glorfindel.
