Friend to the Kings of Old, A

General Quest

Turns out that one of the statues of Elendil on Tyl Ruinen has been ruined by the salamanders, and the other is just gone. To further prove yourself to Gwindeth, she wants you to take care of business.

STEPS:

1) Restore the corrupted statue of Elendil on Tyl Ruinen. Restore the missing statue of Elendil on Tyl Ruinen. Gwindeth says to you:

"When both statues of mighty Elendil once more stand untroubled on the southwest and southeast shores of Tyl Ruinen, I will speak with you again on this matter."

She also tells you that you'll need something to clean the one statue with, and that you should speak with the Elves in The Eavespires, "far to the north and east of Rushingdale, where a stream flows into the lake," to get some.

At this point, before you can do the first part of this quest, you'll need to accept the quest The Corrupted Statue from Lithuifin in The Eavespires.

About that missing statue...well, remember good 'ole Robin Dunkley from Ost Forod, and how you helped him get the pieces to a statue that he wanted to reassemble in the quest Ancient Statuary?

Well, go back to visit him, and accept his quest, The Lost Statue. After you have completed both of these quests, this quest updates for you.

2) Talk to Gwindeth. She is pleased with what you have done, but has one last test for you, and mentions the tomb of Elendil. She says to you:

"Surely the Lord of the Dunedain has prepared you for this test."

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, either Messenger's Cloak, Curugarab, or Gwindeth's Greatsword, and you will now be able to take the next quest, That Which I Value Most.
