Master of the Risen

General Quest

Calenthon wants you to take out the leader of the alliance, Gurdring, along with some of his commanding wights.

NOTE: For your comparison purposes, here was my fellowship composition: Myself, a level 40 Hunter; Brasse, a level 38 Guardian; and Morgrum, a level 50 Guardian. Without Morgrum showing up, we should not have been able to complete this quest when we wanted, and I could not have gotten my second-breakfast helm as quickly as I did. Thanks again, Morgrum!

STEPS:

1) Defeat Gurdring. Defeat 10 wights in Nan Tornaeth. Calenthon says to you:

"Gurdring is sure to be somewhere deep within Nan Tornaeth, hiding within the ruins. He must be defeated if we are to keep the Hillmen from becoming too powerful."

Go back into the same ruins you've been in for the other quests in this series, but this time you'll be heading in much deeper. The place has plenty of normal Wights and Elite ones, levels 38-40.

Gorthir will be the first major roadblock on your way to Gurdring. Gorthir is a level 40 Elite Master with 14,962 morale and 1,625 power. He attacks you after you're on the lower level of the platform, along with a Wight Dread-Warrior and a Wight Blight-Caller , both Elite, high 30s.



To get to your intended target, head up the stairs after you've killed Gorthir. Gurdring will prove to be an easier battle. Then again, maybe that is just because I accidentally aggroed Gorthir and his friends, and we were prepared when we got Gurdring, heh. Anyway, Gurdring is a level 40 Elite with 6,733 morale and 650 power (28.3s, 13.6w).

2) Talk to Calenthon.

3) After you speak with them and select "Finish Now", you get your coin reward, XP, and either Porvaib, Helm of the North-Star, Explorer's Leggings, Gurdring's End or Estelthan.
